Not everyone got their ‘second chance’ at the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) exam on June 21, despite the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducting a re-examination after the paper leak controversy– for some, the day ended with them not marking a single answer, and their parents losing it in the most heartbreaking way possible. A heart-wrenching incident from Telangana recently came forward, which showed a woman falling at a guard’s feet, while begging him to let her daughter enter the exam centre in Jagitial.Reportedly, the mother and daughter duo arrived late for the exam, resulting in the guard not allowing the NEET candidate to enter the test centre. The clip showed the mother crying and desperately pleading
with the guard, while her daughter was right behind her, trying to calm the mother down. The video immediately went viral and gained a mixed reaction. Some sympathised with the duo and commented how being a few minutes late should have been ignored, keeping in mind India’s slow traffic and commute. Meanwhile, others blamed the two for not arriving in advance for an important examination. The NEET UG 2026 exam was originally held on May 03, but was soon cancelled over ‘paper leak’ reports. NTA then conducted a re-exam on Sunday, June 21. The re-exam was held from 2 PM to 5:15 PM (IST) in pen-and-paper mode. It was held across 551 Indian cities and 14 overseas locations, whereas 22.79 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance exam.Check out the viral post:“An emotional scene unfolded outside a NEET exam centre in Jagitial, Telangana, after a mother fell at the feet of security guards and begged them to let her daughter enter the exam hall.
