What could have been a stressful moment on the road turned into a heartwarming experience for Arunachal Pradesh’s Tenzin Metoh. The former Miss Arunachal and avid biker recently took to Instagram to share an encounter that restored her faith in people during a solo ride. While travelling through Bhagalpur in Bihar, Metoh found herself disoriented after taking a wrong turn on her way to her hotel. Navigating an unfamiliar city alone, she decided to seek help from two local men nearby. In the video, she introduces herself and recounts how the situation unfolded. Rather than simply pointing her in the right direction, the two men, who also appear in the clip, went out of their way to ensure she didn’t face further confusion. They took the time to guide
her properly, setting aside their own work to help her reach her destination safely. The experience left a lasting impression on Metoh, who used the moment to reflect on broader perceptions faced by people from the Northeast while travelling across India. She wrote, “Sometimes, the map gets it wrong, but people don't. Bhagalpur gave me more than a destination, it gave me faith. Strangers who cared, without a reason. And that's the India I'm riding for.''
She also pointed out that while stories of discrimination or challenges often dominate conversations back home, such positive interactions deserve recognition too. For her, the gesture reflected “communal harmony” and reinforced the belief that kindness goes beyond regional boundaries. The video quickly struck a chord online, with many users applauding the locals for their gesture. One user wrote, “Welcome to Bihar, ma'am. Historically, we have always been known for our hospitality, warmth, and love.” Another commented, “Glad two gentlemen made a good repo of our city.” The clip has since emerged as a reminder of the simple yet powerful impact of human kindness.
