The ‘6 AM email’ that ended up changing the lives of many Oracle employees for the bad and even for the worst– seemingly did not waiver the optimism of a senior manager, who was one of the many unfortunate employees who got laid off. Claire Fontenot, a Senior Technical Program Manager for Product Development, took to her LinkedIn to share a rather different reaction to getting laid off from Oracle: “I will enjoy sleeping in this morning lolol.” The post immediately went viral, with netizens reacting in several ways.As per her post, her first reaction was surely “Yikes”, however, it soon turned into a realisation about it being a “freedom” and a “rare opportunity to slow down”. Reportedly, Oracle laid off around “30,000 employees” in all its
branches from across the globe. What was further “outraging” was the fact that the “lay off email” was sent to the sacked employees at 6 in the morning.Times Now could not confirm the details of the post. Check out the viral post: “Yikes- I thought to myself, being one of the many many folks impacted by recent layoffs at Oracle. But it happens, and I will enjoy sleeping in this morning lolol I will enjoy the challenge of ambiguity, the uncomfortable-ness of saying ‘I’m looking for a job’, but mostly (I think) the freedom of a rare opportunity to slow down and reflect on what I’m wanting to do next. All to say, hope everyone is doing okay!! I think it’ll be okay,” the post read. The post was shared on LinkedIn by the handle ‘Claire Fontenot’.
