A heartwarming story from Delhi has taken over Reddit, reminding people that kindness still exists in unexpected places. A man shared how a Rapido driver went out of his way to help him one night when
he was drunk, anxious, and unable to pay for his ride — an act he called “a true act of kindness.”The story appeared on Reddit’s r/Delhi subreddit under the title, “A Rapido guy saved me from being myself.” The man began his post by admitting, “It was not a night I was proud of. I broke down in the middle of the street, drunk,” adding, “Just wanted to reach home, booked a Rapido. He understood my condition as I was stumbling, held me and safely reached me home. When I wanted to pay I forgot and fumbled my UPI pin. I became anxious. He felt it and said, ‘So jaiye bhaiya, kal subah I’ll send you my QR code.’”The man continued, “I crashed out, woke up to another crushing morning but with a text from the same guy asking if I was okay. I have thrown out the rest of my sleeping pills and alcohol bottles.”He concluded his post with a touching reminder: “Pass on the kindness, everyone needs it.” The man also attached a screenshot showing four failed payment attempts from that night and shared that he repaid the driver eight hours later — adding a little extra to thank him.
