People in uniform are mostly the reason why many refrain from committing crimes. In other words, fear of law and punishment is often what keeps miscreants in control. However, what to expect if the very
people in uniform- turn into the ones committing questionable acts? A video was recently shared on social media, which showed a uniformed-man, a Bihar Assistant Sub-Inspector, casually littering a floor on a train. The ASI, MK Paswan, was on a call. It was during this call that he was also enjoying some peanuts and was then throwing the peanut shells on the train floor. The entire thing was captured in the camera, seemingly by a passenger who was sitting in the same coach, right opposite to the cop. Not only did it not raise questions on the man’s ‘lack of civic sense’, but it also left netizens highlighting laws against littering onboard Indian Railways trains. Notably, as per the Indian Railways (Penalties for Activities Affecting Cleanliness at Railway Premises) Rules, 2012, “littering, spitting, or disposing of waste in non-designated areas on trains and station premises” is not allowed. Culprits may face punishments that include fines of up to Rs 500.Times Now could not confirm the details of the post. Check out the viral post: “A Bihar Assistant Sub-Inspector has been caught on camera throwing peanut shells on the floor of a train, sparking criticism over poor civic behaviour. The incident has raised questions about accountability, with many asking how civic sense can be expected from the public when those meant to set an example show such disregard for shared spaces,” the post read.
