Unusual weather conditions have transformed parts of Rajasthan into scenes resembling a snowy landscape after intense hailstorms, strong winds, and light rainfall swept across the region over the past 24 hours. The striking visuals, now widely circulating online, have left many surprised, as fields appeared blanketed in white, drawing comparisons to Kashmir.Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan shared glimpses of the aftermath on X, showcasing a field in Arjunsar that was completely covered in ice following the storm. In the video, the entire field appears as though it is draped in a snow-like white sheet. At first glance, the visuals can easily be mistaken for snowfall, but they are actually the result of a severe hailstorm. The video was captioned,
“Not Kashmir. This is Arjunsar in Bikaner district. View after yesterday’s hailstorm. Hope the government will take care of crop insurance.”
As the clip gained traction online, it drew a wide range of reactions. One user wrote, “seems we are not still understanding climate change & it's effect.” Another commented, “Nature!!!! So unpredictable!” While many were amazed by the visuals, others raised concerns about the damage caused to crops due to the hailstorm, with one user noting, “Crop insurance is a must.”As per the local meteorological department, Bikaner recorded a maximum temperature of 30°C on Saturday, April 4, with a 31% chance of rainfall.
