The man behind the viral "America kya kehta tha?" meme has resurfaced on social media, this time not for another rant, but for joining the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest in New Delhi. Gautam Singh, who became an internet sensation in 2025 after passionately defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a viral video, was spotted at Delhi's Jantar Mantar as students protested over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.Singh, 21, shot to fame in March 2025 after his fiery remarks, particularly his repeated refrain, "America kya kehta tha?'' went viral across social media. The phrase was remixed into songs, featured in countless reaction videos, and turned into one of the year's biggest memes. His unwavering support for PM Modi, including his remark that
he would still vote for the Prime Minister even if flour cost Rs 15,000 a kilogram, earned him the nickname "Modi's biggest fan."In an unexpected turn, Singh was seen participating in the CJP-led protest that has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged paper leak. The agitation intensified on Monday as thousands of protesters marched towards Parliament before being stopped by police.Sharing videos from Jantar Mantar on Monday, Singh claimed he had attended the protest on both Sunday and Monday."Hum kal bhi yahan pe the aur main aaj bhi yahan pe hun," he said in one of the videos.Pointing towards the crowd gathered behind him, Singh urged others to join the demonstration."Behind me, you can see the whole protest. Now it's your turn to come join us. Even America is demanding Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation," he said in Hindi, referencing the catchphrase that made him famous. In the comments section of one of his posts, Singh wrote, "Mere liye mera desh sabse pehle aata hai" (For me, my country comes first).
