A YouTuber who has always been in the spotlight, mostly over her massive and expensive jewellery collection, failed to get the internet’s support after she got robbed of gold, cash and silver worth Rs 7 to 8 lakh in a house theft recently. Popular YouTuber Rachna Gurjar, whose social media handle is full of videos of her flaunting her gold and wealth, recently lost lakhs. As per multiple reports, the robbery was well-planned, whereas the internet was quick to link it with her social media videos displaying gold and other jewellery.The robbery unfolded at her house in Shivpuri district in Madhya Pradesh, as per The Economic Times. While most linked the case with ‘online jewellery flaunting’, many also commented on how the incident still raises
safety concerns in India, and specifically in rural India.Reportedly, the family was sleeping when the robbery happened, as it took place late at night, under the Narwar police station limits. The robbers had cut through the boundary fence to enter the house, and later locked the room from outside to keep the family away from intervening. The thieves also moved the camera towards an angle which made recording the incident impossible. Based on the thieves being able to move inside the house without triggering any alert, the police also speculated that the incident was thoroughly planned.As per The Economic Times, the YouTuber lost around Rs 7 to 8 lakh, as the stolen items included Rs 1.9 lakh cash, a gold mangalsutra, four gold rings, silver ornaments and more. Something like this was bound to happen," a user commented. “I am not surprised,” added another.“Just because she was showing her wealth does not mean that she will get robbed. This showed a lapse in law and order, not her flaunting her gold,” added another person.
