A video is going viral on social media, which showed a Vat Savitri Puja celebration in Patna, Bihar, which left people shocked and panicked after the very celebration went up in flames. The incident reportedly unfolded at the Fatuha block office premises, where, during the puja, the dry threads used in the ritual caught fire. Since the tradition involves women tying the threads around the Banyan tree, the fire ultimately ended up burning the tree.The clip showed people panicking and trying to douse the fire, as the threads tied around the tree trunk continued to burn in heavy flames. The amount
of damage that the tree ended up receiving has not been confirmed yet, meanwhile, the fire was eventually brought under control soon after the authorities were informed.Reportedly, no casualties have been reported so far. The Vat Savitri Puja is a festival celebrated in many Indian states. It is mostly performed by married women, where they tie a sacred thread around a banyan tree for the longevity of life for their partners.
