The very phrase ‘close shave with death’ came alive after this Brazilian man ended up facing death on the face– yet managed to remain alive, and unharmed! 48-year-old Railson Souza had one of the unluckiest
yet luckiest days on Saturday, November 08, after a deadly car accident left his ride completely destroyed. As per the Daily Mail, the accident happened at 5:30 AM, when the man was driving through Jardim Apura, Sao Paulo. CCTV footage of the accident showed the car losing control and steering towards a long staircase. In a matter of seconds, the speeding vehicle went flying down and crashed horribly at the end of the staircase. However, despite the gravity of the crash, the man managed to remain without a single injury, except for a minor scratch in one of his fingers.As per the Daily Mail, firefighters soon rushed in, while Souza was taken to the hospital. He went under multiple scanners and X-rays, only to be later declared completely alright.“'I had a bad headache and was thinking: I'll get home and take a shower, take the medicine, and sleep,” Souza was quoted as saying on the Brazilian TV programme SPTV. “All I remember about the accident is being down at the bottom of the steps and someone saying: Railson, calm down, Railson,” the man was further heard saying.“I don't know how I ended up where I did. Tears fall from my eyes when I watch the video. I try to find an explanation, and the explanation is God. It was God that protected me at that moment, me and my family, so that I could be here today,” Souza continued.Souza also clarified that he was not on drugs or drunk at the time of the accident. “I'm here to say that I wasn't drunk, I wasn't on drugs, I wasn't racing, I wasn't drag racing, nothing like that,” he was quoted as saying, as per the Daily Mail.The video soon went viral, with netizens reacting in all kinds of ways.
