Flagging a major food safety concern, a train passenger recently took to social media and shared a video– which quickly went viral and left the Indian Railways under the scanner over hygiene and maintenance of the food that is served to passengers on trains. In his video, the man began with directly addressing regular train passengers who often opt for on-train meals. “I’m going to show a video to people who travel by train and opt for meals. Let me show you a video of how exactly that food is made,” the man stated in the reel. The clip then moved onto the man showing the train’s 'food compartment'. It showed a table full of uncovered plates with food on them. The camera then panned to the train’s roof, which showed water droplets- possibly water from
the train's AC duct- dripping into the plates kept below.Confronting the staff, the man flagged the incident and called it concerning. The video soon went viral and also came to the notice of the authorities, leading to the official handle of IRCTC reacting to the clip: “Dear sir, Please share your Journey details and PNR in DM. Regards, IRCTC Official.”Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral video: “See what happened with food made on the train,” the post read.
