Rare Wild Cat ‘Caracal’ Spotted In MP’s Kuno National Park After Decades

A rare sighting that single-handedly turned into a major appreciation for wildlife conservation efforts by the Madhya Pradesh authorities at the Kuno National Park in Sheopur- Caracal sighting- is now going viral for all the correct reasons! A rare wild cat, the Caracal, was reportedly spotted at the Kuno National Park recently, pictures of which were later shared on social media by the All India Radio News. The images showed the rare animal casually roaming in the wild at night. The sighting reportedly happened during a recent camera trap survey.Reportedly, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav also reacted to the rare sighting and welcomed the development. He further called it a part of the ‘Project Cheetah’, stating that the project

The 18-month project is being implemented jointly by the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Rajasthan Forest Department and Sawai Madhopur-based NGO Tiger Watch.
