A major metropolitan city that has been making thousands of headlines over its snail-like slow traffic for years– took over the internet for a completely opposite reason on April 22- after its much-awaited and “much-needed” first double-decker flyover finally officially opened for people! Bengaluru and its people- specifically its daily commuters- are losing their mind over the double-decker flyover that opened on a trial basis, connecting the HSR Layout 5th Main to Jayanagar’s Ragigudda. The flyover is expected to significantly resolve the traffic issues at the Central Silk Board junction.Amid the same, a night-time aerial view of the newly opened flyover was shared online, which immediately went viral. It’s safe to say that the clip was quick
to leave many “awestruck”, as the well-lit flyover in combination with vehicle tail-lights and head-lights looked like a cluster of diamonds.Reportedly, it was the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) that executed the said project, which spans 5.12 km and incorporates both rail and road traffic. The flyover is also providing a ‘signal-free corridor’ that is expected to reduce travel times by ‘over 30 per cent’. This development is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow in the region and enhance connectivity across key areas of Bengaluru.Check out the viral post:"Aerial view of Bengaluru’s much-awaited double-decker flyover from Silk Board to Ragigudda - now fully open to the public in both directions!" the post read. The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘sriharikaranth’.
