Residents of Gurugram are experiencing an intense cold wave, with temperatures plunging sharply in recent days. On Monday, the minimum temperature dropped to around 0.6 degrees Celsius, making it colder than several Himalayan hill stations. Amid the falling temperatures, a video showing sub-zero conditions in the suburbs of Gurugram, Haryana, has gone viral on social media.In the video, a man uses a weather temperature monitor to display the current conditions in the area. The device shows the minimum temperature dropping to as low as -0.9 degrees Celsius. The clip has been doing the rounds on social media and is trending heavily on platform X.The video was originally posted on X by weather expert Navdeep Dahiya. It was captioned, “Massive ground
frost and ice. It’s the second morning in a row with freezing sub-zero temperature (-0.9°C) in the suburbs of #Gurgaon, #Haryana. More areas in #DelhiNCR experienced similar ground frost.”
In the video, Dahiya says, “I am in the outskirts of Gurugram. Another morning with sub-zero temperature. It’s around -0.4 degrees Celsius right now, but the minimum was -0.9 degrees Celsius. There is a freezing surface and ground frost.” As he speaks, he also shows the device displaying the live temperature readings. The video has since been reshared by several users across social media platforms and continues to trend on X.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Gurugram recorded a minimum temperature of 0.6 degrees Celsius on Monday morning. The cold wave has gripped much of the National Capital Region and northwest India.The video has garnered varied reactions online, with many users expressing concern over the plunging temperatures across Delhi-NCR and Gurugram.
