Karnataka Couple Attends Their Own Wedding Reception Online– After Their IndiGo Flight Got Cancelled!

Advantages and disadvantages of technical advancements all cramped into one incident? In one of the most unique wedding receptions, the main attraction of the function- the newlywed couple- was compelled to attend the event virtually! A Karnataka couple, who were supposed to fly from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru and onwards to Hubballi, ended up getting stuck kilometres away from the venue after their Indigo flight got cancelled on December 03. Hubballi’s Medha Kshirsagar and Bhubaneswar’s Sangama Das tied the holy knot in Bhubaneswar on November 23, but were yet to host a formal gathering at the bride’s hometown. The couple, software engineers working in Bengaluru, were originally supposed to be in Hubballi on December 02, to host their December 03 reception.

However, since the bride’s parents had already arranged everything and since the guests were also invited long ago, the reception went ahead anyway– with the couple attending their own function through a video call. Their unique ‘reception story’ soon went viral on social media, with netizens reacting in multiple ways.In the clip, the couple were seen interacting with the guests through a huge screen that was placed not so far away from the main stage, while the guests continued to attend like any other regular function.As soon as the incident went viral, netizens somewhat expressed their fury over the flight cancellation disrupting a major ‘life event’. For those not aware, IndiGo has been facing flight delays and cancellations for the last 3 to 4 days. On Thursday alone, the airline cancelled 550 flights. Moreover, IndiGo stated that the cancellations will continue till December 08.Reportedly, the disruptions came after the Government came out with strict regulations for crew safety, which seemingly threw off the airline’s roster planning. Indigo has further assured the aviation watchdog DGCA that normalcy will be restored by February 10.Check out the viral video and photos:
