A chance ride in a Chennai share-auto has gone viral after a woman discovered that the driver behind the wheel was not only offering an unusually comfortable commute but was also a renowned motivational speaker who has delivered multiple TEDx talks and addressed employees at some of the world's biggest companies. The story was shared by the Instagram page @the_dharani_theory, where the woman recounted an unexpected encounter during a ride in Sholinganallur that left a lasting impression on her.According to the post, the experience stood out from the moment she stepped into the vehicle.“The moment I entered the auto, I was practically amazed at what I saw," she wrote.Unlike a typical share-auto, the vehicle was stocked with a wide range of reading
material, including magazines such as Frontline, Femina and Outlook, along with resources for UPSC aspirants. The auto also came equipped with amenities rarely seen in public transport, including two working iPads, complimentary chocolates, umbrellas, a portable cooler, a coffee flask and free Wi-Fi for passengers.A notice inside the vehicle further caught her attention. It read, “Free for nurses, sanitary workers, teachers and doctors."The driver, identified as Annadurai, had also curated a distinctive atmosphere inside the auto, playing everything from Shakira's “Whenever, wherever" to devotional songs dedicated to Lord Murugan.“Anna speaks seven languages, laughs loudly and does cute little dances while taking his savaari," she wrote. The ride took an even more surprising turn when a fellow passenger recognised Annadurai and mentioned that she had previously invited him to her college as a chief guest.Intrigued, the woman began speaking with the driver and soon realised there was much more to his story than met the eye.“It took me a few minutes of conversation to figure out that Anna was a seven-time TEDx speaker, giving lectures in companies like Google and Microsoft," she wrote.According to the post, Annadurai has earned widespread recognition over the years for redefining the passenger experience and proving that even the most ordinary professions can be transformed through innovation and dedication. As the journey came to an end, Annadurai asked the woman about her profession. After learning that she worked as both a teacher and a doctor, he reportedly refused to accept any fare despite her repeated attempts to pay.The gesture, she said, reinforced the lesson she had taken away from the encounter.“He made me realise one thing that day. While we all complain about our jobs, Anna taught me how you can be successful in anything that you do if you love it enough, give your hundred per cent even on your bad days and work as an honest man."
