Woman Constable Clears Traffic with Baby: A video is circulating on social media, sending a powerful message of determination and humanity. The clip shows an off-duty police officer clearing a heavy traffic jam on a busy road to make way for an ambulance. What has deeply inspired viewers is the fact that she was holding a baby in her arms while doing so.The woman hailed as a ‘hero’ has been identified as Amudala Jaya Shanti. According to The Times of India, she is posted at the Rangampeta Police Station in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. After the video went viral, her selfless act has won widespread admiration, highlighting her commitment to duty even beyond official hours.Even though she had finished her duty for the day, Shanti did
not stop being a police officer at heart.
After completing her shift at the Rangampeta police station, Shanti was on her way home to Kakinada with her two-and-a-half-year-old baby. It was Saturday, and the roads near Samalkota railway station were crowded because of the Sankranti festival. Inside it was a patient who needed urgent help. Without thinking twice, Shanti decided to act, even though she was off duty, outside her police station limits, and carrying her young child.She first handed her baby to people traveling with her so she could move freely. Then she stepped onto the road and began clearing the traffic on her own. For nearly 40 minutes, she managed the chaos, asking drivers to move aside and creating space for the ambulance to pass.When her baby woke up and began crying, Shanti had no choice but to take the child back into her arms. But it did not stop her. She held her baby in arms and resumed clearing the traffic. She was shortly accompanied by her fellow-officers on duty, who worked together for another one-and-a-half hours to bring the traffic under control. By the time the ambulance finally moved through, Shanti had been on the road for almost two hours.East Godavari Superintendent of Police D. Narasimha Kishore praised Shanti for her selfless service and announced a reward for her.
