The monsoon that was supposed to be a relief has turned into a nightmare for Maharashtra- Mumbai in specific- ever since its arrival. Keeping in mind the type of reports and videos that are coming forward from the city and its adjoining areas– infrastructural damage, waterlogging and flooding is all that Mumbaikars have seemingly been dealing with from the past few days. Amid the same, yet another highly concerning video came forward, which showed the very battle that the people of Mumbai are currently going through. The clip showed people, in raincoats and with umbrellas, walking alongside a completely flooded train track, allegedly in Vasai. The video was captured from far away, allegedly at around 5 PM on Monday, July 06. People were mostly
walking somewhat in queues, where the group even had a few kids. Times Now could not confirm the details of the post. The clip, soon after resurfacing on social media, raised multiple questions on the safety of Mumbaikars amid rain and waterlogging.Repeatedly, at least 13 people have lost their lives so far– across Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in rain-related incidents this monsoon. To ensure the safety of students, on the other hand, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for all government, private, and municipal schools and colleges.Check out the viral post: “Heavy waterlogging, train bandh & nonstop rain — Mumbai, stay home and stay safe,” the post read.
