A woman from Mumbai attempted to secure a refund of Rs 1,820 for a cake order placed through Zomato, using an AI-generated image as evidence of a supposed spillage issue. The bakery, Dessert Therapy, publicly
exposed her actions, highlighting the increasing trend of fraudulent claims in the food delivery sector.Bakery Calls Out CustomerDessert Therapy, known for its various dessert outlets across Mumbai, shared the incident on Instagram, expressing frustration over the lengths some customers will go to for refunds. They stated, "As a brand, we encounter multiple false customer claims and complaints on Swiggy & Zomato. No doctored claims surprise or shock us anymore. The lengths to which customers go is, at times, frustrating, and even ridiculously funny."The customer, identified as Aditi Singh, claimed that the Almond Praline Strawberries Dark Chocolate Cake she received had suffered from a spillage issue, asserting that it appeared to have fallen on one side. However, when asked to provide photographic proof, Singh submitted an AI-generated image that bore no resemblance to the actual product.
