Preaching “work ownership” or "commitment towards one’s assignments” usually sits well with netizens on the internet. However, when this Gurugram company’s founder did something similar, social media ended up turning against him instead! Confused? Taking to his LinkedIn, the founder- Nikhil Rana- shared about a particular incident. As per his post, one of his employees texted him about not being able to make it to an event. By the looks of it, the employee did try, but was still unable to manage.“Hey Nikhil, I won't be able to make it for the event today. I tried to manage it, but won't be able to join. Let me know if there's anything I can support with remotely. I'll get u everything by Monday,” the employee's texts read.The text sounded “fine”;
however, the response that came from Rana is what left many opposing and even trolling him: “Chod do. You're fired. Take today as the last day. Thanks.” Rana then went ahead and started tying his response with “ownership” and “commitment”, which is when the internet seemingly lost it.Most criticised the founder’s move and even cracked jokes about his manner of handling the situation. Many also commented, asking for more context on the incident.“At The 15 I strongly believe in no-notice period policy.Notice period is theatre. A waste of time.Startups need:1. People who take ownership2. People who founders can depend upon3. People with high-agency4. People who don't wait for the perfect time and situation.5. People who can 'make it happen'Skills have taken the last seat now. Nobody gives a dime for skills. They're commoditized.Building core networks for founders at The 15,” the founder’s post had read, along with the screenshots of the texts. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral post:The post was shared on LinkedIn by the handle ‘Nikhil Rana’.
