The internet is stunned, confused and has a whole lot of questions– after watching the former West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, ditching her staple attire- the classic white saree- and switching to something that no one saw coming! The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief on Thursday, May 14, made an appearance at the Calcutta High Court, donning an advocate’s gown. Multiple videos showed Banerjee entering the Court in the shades of black and white, looking like a lawyer all set to fight her case. The videos immediately went viral, pulling all kinds of reactions. Some curiously asked if she has a “law degree”, while some joked about her “switching fields”. The internet also got flooded with several memes on Banerjee being a ‘lawyer’.Reportedly,
the former WB CM was at the HC over a post-poll violence matter. She was accompanied by Kalyan Banerjee. The West Bengal Assembly Elections this year witnessed the fall of a party that was ruling the state for decades, Banerjee’s TMC. The election results were announced on May 04, whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Suvendu Adhikari took the Chief Minister oath on May 13, Wednesday.Check out the viral post: “Mamata Banerjee reaches Calcutta High Court in Lawyer's attire,” the post read.
