Amid the many complaints of ''misbehaviour by cab drivers and bikers'' that surface on social media, a heartwarming story of a Rapido bike driver helping a woman reach home safely and on time has gone viral. The woman herself shared the incident on Instagram, saying that “it turned into a story that she won’t ever forget.”The post was shared by a user identified as Asha Mane. In the video, she can be seen riding on a Rapido bike while text on the screen explains the situation, “I thought this was just another Rapido ride! Until it turned into a story I'll never forget. It was 11:45 PM. My phone battery was down to 6%. I booked a Rapido for a 38 km ride and asked anna, ‘anna konjum vegum pogalama? (Can we go a little fast?) I need to reach soon…’
A few kilometres in and… thud!! The bike hit a pothole, and the chain broke. It was a dark, empty road with no shop around, leaving me and anna helpless on the road!”
In the caption, she shared what happened next, “Usually, the captain has to terminate the ride or rebook, but I was moved when he said, ‘Don't worry, we will fix it and I will drop you home.’ That one single line of assurance, so simple… And something in me said, ‘If he’s not giving up, neither will I.’ Being a rider, I have learnt one lesson — not to leave a fellow rider halfway like this! So I stayed… There I was, holding my phone torch, sitting with him in the middle of the empty road, while he fixed the chain in under 10 minutes. No complaints, no frustration… just quiet teamwork between two strangers at midnight.”She further wrote, “And guess what? He got me home safely at 1. Sometimes, we hear so much about what’s wrong in the world that we forget there are still people who choose to do right. Out of a thousand bad experiences, there are still those few that restore your faith — in people, in safety, in humanity.”She added, “So yeah… not every night ride is about nature and cruising on highways. Some rides remind you that the world isn’t as unsafe as it feels. Sometimes, it’s just about trusting and building trust, and for me this was the one!!!”She concluded her post by tagging Rapido and requesting the company to appreciate captains who go the extra mile to make women feel safer. The post has since gone viral, amassing over 1 million views and receiving heartwarming reactions. One user wrote, “He's the man!!!! He should get all the blessings.” Another remarked, “This shows that good men are still out there, and this is what we need.”
