A travel vlogger’s account of an unsettling stay at a hostel in Kerala has ignited widespread outrage online, with users calling for action against the property owner after allegations of misconduct surfaced in a viral video.In the viral video, Abhimanyu Nandal described an incident that left him feeling “angry and disgusted” during his trip. He said he had booked a shared dorm at a property named Hostel Exp.According to him, the dorm had four beds, three occupied by male travellers and one by a foreign woman tourist. The group had been casually interacting and getting acquainted when the situation took an uncomfortable turn.Nandal alleged that the hostel owner partially opened the dorm door and stood outside, watching the woman inside. At first,

the guests assumed it was a routine check and chose to ignore it.However, they soon realised the behaviour was far from normal. He claimed the owner continued to stare while acting in a vulgar and inappropriate manner. When the woman confronted him, the owner allegedly dismissed her concerns, saying it was his property and he could enter or look into any dorm whenever he wished.Nandal said he later confronted the owner about the incident, but instead of addressing the issue, the owner allegedly reacted angrily and asked him to vacate the premises by the following morning.Disturbed by what had happened, Nandal said he went on to share a detailed review online recounting the experience.He also claimed that upon checking further, he found multiple Google reviews from other travellers describing similar incidents involving the same hostel owner. Screenshots of these reviews added to the outrage as the video spread online.

The clip quickly gained traction, sparking a broader conversation around safety in hostels and accountability of such establishments.
