It might be the second half of the 2020s that we are all set to enter in the next three days– however, as far as the country’s ‘women safety’ status is concerned– we might very well still be stuck in the 90s or the years before! Confused? Well, a Mumbai woman was left shocked and was reminded of the “older days”, as soon as her daughter returned home with a “mysterious blade cut on her hand”. A video was shared online, which was shared by the said daughter- recalling a scary incident that unfolded with her allegedly at a Mumbai metro station. As per the video, the woman was on an escalator, while a man was standing not so far away from her.As soon as the man spotted her standing at the back, he crossed his arms, resulting in bruising her arm for a bit.
However, it was only after everything happened that the woman realised that the ‘arm brushing’ was not normal- it was possibly an attempt to hurt her instead. The woman spotted a mysterious cut on her hand that appeared soon after. She couldn't place a solid reason behind the cut at first; it was only after she showed it to her mother that she realised it was a blade cut. The woman's mother recalled that it was a thing that used to happen in the older days, when some men used to randomly harm women with blades– just for the “fun of it”. Her mother further stated how she was not expecting something like this to happen in 2025 as well.In the clip, the Mumbai woman further clarified that she could not confirm anything, but still had high doubts about the man on the escalator. The woman did get a tetanus injection later. She also asked others to stay alert. The video went viral in an instant, leaving netizens reacting. Most were shocked, while some suggested she get tested for STDs and other deadly diseases. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.Check out the viral post: “If you travel by metro, or honestly any public transport in Mumbai, this can happen, and that’s really unfortunate. I was genuinely shocked because I didn’t even know incidents like this exist in the first place. That’s probably a very privileged thing to say, and it also means that in many ways we do live in a safer world now. But if this has started happening again, then it’s scary,” the post read. “I couldn’t report what happened to me because I didn’t even realise it when it happened. I was distracted during the commute, I don’t have any concrete evidence, and I don’t have a specific person I can point a finger at or hold accountable. So the only thing I felt I could do was share this — because personally, I didn’t even know this was a thing. If you ever notice something like this happen to you or someone around you, please report it if you can. Because if this is really what happened, that person is still out there somewhere,” added another. “Also, what have our moms been through? Every woman from my mom’s generation that I asked: my mom, my maushi, even our neighbour; looked at the cut and immediately said “blade.” Like it was common knowledge. It’s sad that it was so normal back then… and even sadder that it might be coming back now,” the woman further wrote in the comments. “My mom never even told me about this because she genuinely thought the world had moved on and we live in a safer place now. I don’t even know why someone would do this. Maybe they saw my tattoo, maybe they just wanted to hurt someone, maybe they just couldn’t see someone looking happy. I don’t know. But none of it is okay,” the woman’s comment read. The post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘nush.nushh’. The post was shared 2 days ago and pulled more than 94K views from people.
