The Delhi metro- it seems- ended up becoming the highlight of Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi’s Delhi visit, as he shared a video of travelling on the “pulse” of the National Capital. Khosrowshahi recently visited Delhi, during which he seemingly decided to step into a common Delhiite’s shoes by taking the metro. A video was shared on his social media handle, which showed him taking the metro and looking amazed by the facilities. He then opened up about his experience, and called the Delhi metro system ‘fast, affordable, and reliable’. The clip surely went viral, but not just over ‘Uber CEO taking the metro’, but also over Uber itself! As soon as the clip began to float online, a few netizens began to comment on Uber’s services in India. A few complained
about it, while others suggested more ways to improve the service. Khosrowshahi, on the other hand, focused more on the feat that Uber has already achieved in making commuting easier for millions in the country. He claimed that over “10 million metro rides” have been booked on Uber in India so far. He also acknowledged the role of Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC), in “helping unlock” the “vision at scale”.He also lauded the Delhi metro services: “I got the real feel of the Delhi pulse on the Delhi metro. It was fast. It was affordable. It was reliable. It was absolutely awesome.”Check out the viral post: “More modes. Less friction. Better cities. I’m ‘on the road’ again in India, and excited to see how partnerships with public transit is making everyday mobility easier for millions of commuters across the country. More than 10 million metro rides have been booked on the Uber app in India already— with a big shout out to Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) for helping unlock this vision at scale,” the video read. The post was shared on LinkedIn by the handle ‘Dara Khosrowshahi’. It was shared yesterday and pulled over 2K views from people.
