From snow and rainfall in April to “snow-like” hailstorms in cities like Pune and Bengaluru, 2026 is seemingly witnessing some of the most unforeseen and unexplained weather conditions. Naturally, such incidents are only further triggering ‘global warming and extreme weather’ debates among people. Many are also bringing up ‘chemtrails theories’ as a reason behind such rare natural phenomena. Amid the same, yet another rare phenomenon left India stunned just recently: a tornado in Jammu and Kashmir. A video came forward, which showed a tornado with strong winds forming in Jammu. Reportedly, the video was captured in Jammu’s Akhnoor.The tornado formed in the evening on Saturday, April 11. Quoting the Director of the J&K Meteorological Department,
Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, India Today reported that the tornado lasted for “10 minutes”.
