The celebration was especially meaningful for Tanu’s father, Rajesh Jaiswal. As a parent of five daughters, he had long envisioned honouring their weddings with the same grandeur traditionally reserved for sons. To bring that vision to life, the family even designed wedding cards featuring the phrase “Ladki Ki Baraat.” Adding to the symbolism, the bride’s relatives performed aarti and offered a farewell to the procession — customs normally carried out by the groom’s family.Seated in a traditional carriage, Tanu led the nearly two-kilometre procession, surrounded by music, dancing, and colourful lights. The lively atmosphere drew crowds who lined the route to watch the historic moment unfold.Upon reaching Rajat’s home, the bride was greeted with warmth and traditional rituals. Videos of the celebration have since gone viral, with viewers applauding the families for challenging old gender norms and embracing a more progressive, joyful expression of marriage traditions.
