A video was shared on his official social media account, in which he first showed an email that he had received. The email was about the English language, specifically about its usage while spelling numbers.Turning his humour up a notch, Tharoor simply responded with a, “Fairly good question, but there's only one simple answer. English is a completely irrational language.” Yes, the man simply called the language ‘irrational’. For those wondering about the question, here’s what it read: ‘Hi!, just received a funny email saying, I'd like to know why, When from 20 upto 90 ends in ‘ty’, why only 10 is written as ten and why not ‘tenty’. 2.) When from 13 upto 19 ends in ‘teen’ why not 11 and 12 is written as ‘eleventeen’ and ‘twelveteen’.?’The political leader then switched to his ‘English teacher mode’, and began reciting a poem that further showed the complexities of the English language.The video went viral in an instant, with netizens chiming in on the humour.
