Making friends during a trip- or especially at an international tour- is not exactly something too unforeseen. However, finding comfort in a friendship with a monkey in a foreign country is surely something that does not happen daily, with everyone. An Indian man, who was on a trip to Cambodia, ended up making one of the most wholesome memories after he came across a monkey while visiting Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument! As per his video on the same, the man was walking to the Angkor Wat, which is when the monkey came out of nowhere and clung onto his legs. The man was allegedly scared at first, but soon got comfortable- so much so that he toured the entire temple with the monkey in his hands.“Marcel made my day. On my way
to Angkor Wat (Cambodia), there’s a 10-minute walk before the entrance. With my leg injury, I was this close to taking a tuk-tuk, but something in me said just walk. And I’m so glad I did. I spotted a small monkey on the way and slowed down near him. Out of nowhere, he grabbed my leg and climbed straight up. At first, I panicked a little, just checking if I had anything loose on me, but then I realised he was just a tiny, innocent one looking for some comfort,” the post read.Naturally, the monkey soon became a “crowd magnet”, as people started gathering around the man. From videos and photos to whatnot, the crowd allegedly did not hold back while capturing the duo's unique bond.“He held onto my T-shirt so tightly and actually fell asleep on me for a while. When he woke up, he started playing with my beard and the hair on my arms like I was his long-lost friend. Soon enough, he turned into a full crowd magnet, people gathered around, taking photos, videos, petting him… just pure, wholesome chaos everywhere. I named him Marcel (hope you get the reference) and ended up showing him the whole temple like he was my little travel buddy,” the post continued. However, despite such wholesome understanding, the two ‘friends’ got separated. As per locals, the baby monkey’s mother could have attacked the man after misunderstanding the situation. With that in mind, the man had to let the little one go. He anyways still expressed how he was left feeling “blessed”, for being "chosen" by an animal.“But while exiting, the locals told me he was probably looking for his mother, and if she saw me holding him, her first instinct would be to attack. So I had to let him go somewhere safe. I loved him in that short time, and letting him go wasn’t easy. But honestly, having an animal choose you, even if it’s just for an hour, feels like a different kind of blessing,” the post concluded. As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react. Most loved the clip, while others called the man “lucky”.Check out the viral post:The post was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘gaurav_nagarkatti’.
