82-Year-Old Works 12 Hours A Day, Earns Just Rs 300; Mumbai Vendor's Story Touches Millions

A heartwarming video of an elderly Mumbai street vendor has gone viral, highlighting his resilience and inspiring many online. The man, identified as 82-year-old Mansukh Kaka, spends long hours every day selling homemade farsan on a footpath despite his advancing age and modest earnings.The story was brought to light by Mumbai-based content creator Aradhana Chatterjee, who shared a video documenting her interaction with the octogenarian. She said she noticed him quietly setting up packets of snacks by the roadside and decided to learn more about his life.In the video, Chatterjee revealed that Mansukh Kaka had spent decades working as a salesperson in a saree shop. However, he lost his job after falling seriously ill during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During that period, his son reportedly left his own job to care for him.Rather than retire after recovering, Mansukh Kaka chose to start a small snack stall near his residence to help support his family. Chatterjee said he now spends nearly 12 hours a day at the stall, waiting patiently for customers.The viral clip shows him arranging packets of farsan, greeting customers and managing his business with remarkable dedication. Rows of neatly packed homemade snacks, including various types of khakra, chakli and other traditional items, can be seen displayed along the footpath.According to Chatterjee, the snacks are prepared fresh at home by Mansukh Kaka's sister before being packed and brought to the stall each day. Despite his hard work and long hours, she said his daily earnings average only around Rs 300.One moment that particularly resonated with viewers showed the elderly vendor carefully maintaining a handwritten record of every transaction in a small diary."Even at this age, Mansukh Kaka is trying his best to run his stall with so much passion and hardwork, let's all come together to support him," Chatterjee wrote in the caption, adding she will share details of the stall's location for those who wanted to stop by and support his business.
