The exchange ended on a cordial note, with the journalist shaking hands with the protesters and even hugging some of them.Responding to the apology, Raut downplayed the episode."It was nothing. They were protesting. Nobody misbehaved. Everyone is fine," he said.

The incident has continued to draw mixed reactions online. While some users argued that the confrontation reflected the anger many young protesters felt towards sections of the mainstream media, others said targeting a journalist who was simply reporting from the ground was unacceptable.The apology itself has generated widespread discussion on social media."Apologies matter, glad to see students step forward," one user wrote.Another commented, "Respect regained, from trolling to apologies.""It was necessary to show respect to him because he is an extremely righteous person.
