A post is going viral on social media in which a user claimed that his staff booked an Uber parcel for material delivery; however, the driver allegedly sold the material to someone else and then demanded money from the user to return it.The incident was shared on X by a user identified as (@YusufDFI). In the viral post, the user explained the situation, writing, “My staff booked @Uber @Uber_India for material delivery. Invoice value ₹19,411. The driver ‘failed’ the booking and said he sold the material to someone else for ₹2,000.”He further wrote, “Then demanded we pay him that amount to return the material. Screenshot of booking and his WhatsApp chat with my staff is attached. Uber has failed to track their driver so far. Screenshot of the chat attached.”
The user also attached screenshots to support his claim.
The post has since gone viral and has garnered varied reactions online. One user wrote, “Uber, Porter, Rapido & Borzo are just milking Indian customers with NO support. I booked an intercity parcel with @Porter and made the payment to the shop after Porter’s confirmation. The Porter person didn’t turn up even after 12 hours, and Porter refused to cancel or assign someone else.”Another user suggested, “At this point, it is a police issue, since this is clearly theft.” One more user remarked, “Uber will say go ahead and file a police complaint, they will give the details of the partner but they won’t take responsibility.”One more wrote, “That’s so messed up. Trust is non-negotiable for a parcel service.” Another commented, “File an FIR which will include 3 parties — you, driver, and Uber. One call from the police station and you will have your material back in no time, just that the police will have to initiate that call.”As the incident goes viral, Uber has not yet released a statement regarding the same.
