For the national capital and its youth, specifically, the last few weeks were some of the most unforgettable ones- and by the looks of it, the end of this ‘momentum’ might still be far from over. Delhi is witnessing a youth protest like never before in the last few years- and everyone, including netizens on the internet, has a lot to say about it. How did it all begin?It all began with a remark allegedly made by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant– which turned into something much bigger ever since the remark was made in May.The CJP, which was merely a viral satirical movement on the internet, was made in response to the CJI’s remark. The movement then ended up coinciding with the NEET paper leak row– which only ended up fueling the fire. The CJP protest began on June 20, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged paper leak.The protest has been joined by many leading names so far, including social activist Sonam Wangchuk. The activist, as part of the protest, went on a hunger strike on June 28, which ended Thursday night, July 23.The protesters also held a march to the Parliament on July 20, the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march, after which the CJP leaders met BJP’s JP Nadda, to hand over their demands. Today, July 24, CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka again met BJP leaders Nadda and Jitendra Singh, and handed over their demands.
