Delhi airport, amid yet another IndiGo flight delay, witnessed a rather heartbreaking incident, after a father was seen pleading for assistance for his daughter, who needed immediate help. As seen in the clip, the father- allegedly a soldier- was seen asking for a sanitary pad for his daughter, who started bleeding after getting her period unexpectedly. The man looked highly distressed as he continued to ask for assistance from the IndiGo staff, who were also dealing with other passengers. “Pad chahiye, dedo. Sister, meri beti ko pad chahiye,” the father was heard telling a female staff member, who then responded with, “Hum esa nahi kr sakte (We cannot do this).”IndiGo has been witnessing hundreds of flight delays and cancellations over the past
few days. The disruption erupted after the Government came out with new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, to ensure crew safety, which threw off the airline’s roster planning. As per IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, the operations will be fully stabilised between December 10 and 15. For Saturday too, ‘fewer than 1,000’ flights have been cancelled. Elbers also issued an apology.Coming back to the clip, most netizens found the staff’s behaviour problematic, while some sympathised with the father. Many also questioned the IndiGo female staff member’s response. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. Check out the viral post: “My daughter is bleeding. Please, just give us one sanitary pad. A soldier kept pleading at the airport, begging for help, but he couldn’t get a pad for his daughter, whose period began unexpectedly. This is the condition of our airports— even the most basic necessities aren’t available. There can’t be anything more shameful than this. Why @IndiGo6E shouldn’t be fined heavily ?? and passengers should be compensated,” the post read. The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SouleFacts’.
