A rare glimpse into Mumbai's past is reminding people just how dramatically one of the city's most famous landmarks has changed over the decades. Adding to the nostalgia, the Instagram page indiathatsbharat posted a vintage video, believed to have been filmed around 50 years ago. The footage captures gentle waves rolling onto wide stretches of clean sand, with only a handful of people seen along the shoreline."Fifty years ago, Mumbai's Juhu Beach looked like this. The old photograph and video quickly gained traction across social media, with many users lamenting the transformation of the beach over the years. Several blamed the growing use of single-use plastics, rapid urban development and increasing tourist footfall for its deteriorating condition."Then came the plastic revolution... Severe single-use plastic usage which is not recycled or doesn't degrade. People started using it and became completely dependent on plastic," one user wrote."Now it's overcrowded and a place for plastic," another commented.A third user added, "Lived in Juhu when it was like this.
