First of all, believe it or not, but one of the deadliest disaster zones in the world does have residents: animals. The area does have a good number of dogs who stay in Chernobyl’s exclusion zone, where the canines are cared for by a group called Dogs of Chernobyl, as per the Daily Mail. The dogs have been living in the area for a long time; however, what recently left the group and scientists concerned and puzzled were ‘blue dogs’. Reportedly, several dogs in Ukraine’s Chernobyl exclusion zone are turning ‘blue’. A video of the canines with patches of blue fur is going
viral on social media.In the clip, one of the dogs even looked completely blue. The phenomenon reportedly happened hardly a week ago. “They were not blue last week. We do not know the reason, and we are attempting to catch them so we can find out what is happening,” the team stated, as per Daily Mail. So far, it has been speculated that the mysterious colour is probably from some chemical. “Most likely, they’re getting into some sort of chemical,’ the team further stated, as per Daily Mail.Dogs of Chernobyl has been taking care of these dogs- roughly 700- since 2017, as per Daily Mail.
