Just because Iran and the rest see a certain situation and the world in one way, does not mean that the 45th and the 47th President of the US- Donald Trump- will also HAVE to see it the same way! ‘Why’, you ask? Well, if that is not the case and if the “reality” is the same for everyone out there, then how come the Strait of Hormuz that Iran is “blockading” for the last few weeks, can be the same Strait of Hormuz that Trump “will blockade” if Iran fails to listen to him? Wait, what?Soon after the “Islamabad talks” between the US and Iran in Pakistan failed miserably, Trump came up with another announcement that left many confused and somewhat on edge. Taking to his social media handle on Sunday, April 12, Trump claimed that the US will start
“BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz”, citing that “no one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas.” As per his post, he has also asked the US Navy to “seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran.”As soon as Trump’s post went viral and as soon as his ‘deadline’ for his ‘threats to blockade’ the Strait of Hormuz came to an end– along with the rest of the world, the internet too began to react! And you guessed it correct– from hilarious jokes, memes and whatnot, netizens seemingly did not leave a single stone unturned in displaying their ‘roasting and trolling skills’.For further context, Trump's “deadline” for the said "blockade threat” was “10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) on Monday, April 13, which is 7:30 PM (IST). His post, on the other hand, further read: “Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!”. “Iran promised to open the Strait of Hormuz, and they knowingly failed to do so. As they promised, they better begin the process of getting this INTERNATIONAL WATERWAY OPEN AND FAST!” For those not aware, the Middle East is currently in the middle of a major chaos, which erupted after the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28. The matter only worsened after Iran began to attack in retaliation, along with disrupting the functioning of the Strait of Hormuz. Currently, the West Asia is witnessing a “two-week ceasefire”. Coming back to the internet’s reactions, let’s take a look at some of the most viral ones:“Trump: open the f**king strait. Iran: no. Trump: aight, we will also block the strait,” a user said.
