A deeply emotional moment from outside the sacred Jagannath Temple has struck a chord with millions online. A viral video showing distraught parents praying before Lord Jagannath for their 6-year-old son battling cancer is being widely shared across social media, leaving many viewers in tears.Reportedly, with folded hands, tearful eyes, and a trembling voice, the mother pleaded before Mahaprabhu, “O Jagannath… please save my child. Cure him, Prabhu… give my son a new life.”The child, identified as Soumyaranjan Panda from Odisha’s Kendrapara district, has been diagnosed with a severe form of cancer at just six years old. At an age meant for play, joy, and innocence, the young boy is instead fighting a painful battle for survival. After reportedly
exhausting all possible medical treatments, the grieving parents travelled to Puri in search of divine intervention. In a heart-wrenching moment, they placed their son on a banana leaf near the temple’s Singhadwar and could be seen praying with folded hands, crying for their son’s life. The viral footage shows the mother breaking down in tears as she continued praying, “You listen to every devotee, Prabhu… please listen to us too. My son is your child… bless him and make him healthy again.”The emotional visuals deeply moved devotees and passersby gathered at the temple premises. Several people were seen silently praying for the child’s recovery, while social media users from across Odisha and other parts of the country continue sharing the video along with prayers and words of support. The incident once again highlights the unwavering faith devotees place in Lord Jagannath during the most difficult phases of life, moments when prayer becomes their final source of hope.
