Cricketer Smriti Mandhana has deleted all photos and videos from her pre-wedding festivities with fiance Palash Muchhal on Instagram. The move comes just days after her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was
admitted to the hospital on what was originally meant to be her wedding day. Reports suggest that he suddenly fell ill and his condition deteriorated over the course of the day. Shortly after, Palash too had to be taken to a hospital for a brief medical check and IV drip. With the couple postponing their wedding after nearly six years together, social media has erupted with speculation and unverified claims. Several unverified posts, including alleged chats, claims of alleged cheating, flirting, and suggestions that “Palash’s hospitalisation was staged”, have been circulating online, further fuelling the rumours. These screenshots and allegations remain unverified and highlight the “darker side of viral internet culture”.Although Palash Muchhal’s sister, Palak Muchhal, stepped in to address the rumours through her Instagram story, her clarification did little to stop the frenzy. Social media is flooded with the screenshots of the alleged chats and ‘views’ and ‘counterviews’ justifying, slamming, and preaching. While the internet is passing judgements on these alleged chats, no family members have addressed the rumours.Note: Times Now could not independently verify the authenticity of the circulating posts.
