In 2021, a hobbyist in rural Kochi Prefecture came up with a rather unique pen that had live Anisakis parasitic worms in it. Believe it or not, but the pens were reportedly sold for 950 Yen. Cut to 2026, a video of the pen resurfaced on social media and went viral again!The pens were reportedly sold at the Michinoeki Susaki fresh fish store. The worms were seen casually moving inside the pen filled with herbarium oil. For those wondering, Anisakis is a “genus of parasitic nematodes”. These

parasites are found in various species of fish and can enter a human body if an infected fish is consumed in its raw or undercooked state. The parasite can cause anisakiasis.As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react.
