Mumbai’s Mankhurd bridge and the nearby area turned into pure chaos for hundreds of commuters on Tuesday night, April 28, after many found themselves stuck in an intense traffic jam for hours. Actor Sonali Kulkarni was among many who were left stranded at the Mankhurd bridge, while on her way towards Pune. Taking to her social media handle, Kulkarni complained about the jam and claimed that she has been stuck for over “5 hours”. She also claimed that she contacted the traffic control team, only for them to tell her to “have patience”. The rant went on for a minute and eventually went viral. However, the reactions that she then received were not just about the traffic, but something else that she surely did not see coming– her speaking in English!
Her video soon got flooded with netizens asking her to “speak in Marathi”. Some criticised her for choosing to speak in English, while others defended her and criticised the language remark instead. The Mankhurd traffic, on the other hand, was triggered due to a major accident on Tuesday. Reportedly, a piling rig collapsed at an under-construction flyover site in Mumbai's Mankhurd area. A police constable, Santosh Gopal Chavan, who was reportedly heading home, lost his life in the accident. The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway of the Sion-Panvel Highway.Check out the viral post: The post was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘Sonali Kulkarni’.
