Not everyone spent New Year’s Eve surrounded by friends or at a party. For some, the night meant long hours of work, ensuring others could celebrate without a hitch. Bittu, a food delivery rider for EatClub,
spent the evening rushing across town to ensure everyone got their meals on time.A customer, @FI_InvestIndia, shared a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) applauding Bittu’s dedication. According to the post, the customer had placed a simple order at 8:34 pm, fully aware that deliveries would be hectic on New Year’s Eve. When the food finally arrived at 10 pm, he noticed Bittu, juggling around 30 other orders, still managing a smile despite the stress.“Even on the last day of the year, while most people are off, here we have a young man delivering with a smile,” the post said.
The customer offered him a brief break and some water, and later sent Bittu Rs 501 via UPI, wishing him a Happy New Year on WhatsApp.Bittu’s response was touching: “Very very, thank you so much, sir, mujhe petrol ke liye paisa ho gaya.”“These riders are our heroes. They deserve everything because they make our lives easier. No job is small. Riders are an integral part of our daily lives,” the post added. The story quickly resonated online, with many praising Bittu’s hard work and dedication. One user wrote, “Just how much a simple act of kindness (like giving them water and offering them an extra tip) can mean a lot for them.” Another commented, “Crazy how they have to pay for petrol from their own money. Always thought it was on the company.” And a third added, “This is beautiful. Respect to Bittu and countless others like him. Kindness always finds its way back.”
