Ganesh Jayanti 2026 Significance And Puja Vidhi
Also called Varad Chaturthi (which means the Chaturthi that gives blessings), Maghi Ganesh Jayanti is considered very auspicious. It is said that praying to Ganpati Bappa on this day removes all obstacles from your life and also brings his blessings of wisdom and happiness.To worship Lord Ganesh on this day, wake up early during the Brahma Muhurta, before sunrise and think of the deity. Then take a bath and wear clean clothes, preferably in yellow colour. Clean your puja area and offer flowers to the idol of Ganesh such as marigolds and mango leaves to create an ambiance of sanctity.
Use a copper vessel (kalash) for the Achamana. Fill it with Ganga water, and drink from it thrice by powering water on your right palm, which reciting "Om Gan Ganapataye Namah". Take a sankalp (vow) of worshipping Lord Ganesh and light the diya and incense. You can also sing Ganesh Aarti and offer Ganpati laddoos and modaks on this day.
