This year, Jaya Ekadashi will be observed on January 29, which is tomorrow. Observed on Magha Shukla Paksha Ekadashi Tithi, this sacred vrat is said to remove
sorrow and negative karma while also attracting prosperity and peace. As per ancient scriptures, observing Jaya Ekadashi Vrat, performing Vishnu Puja and chanting powerful Lord Vishnu mantras on this day can protect devotees from miseries and also bless them with happiness, financial stability and positive energy.

Significance Of Jaya Ekadashi
On Jaya Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is worshipped in his Madhav form. As per scriptures, fasting on this day helps in cleansing one of the serious sins. It also brings peace to one's ancestors. At the same time, it is also believed to guide the soul toward a righteous path in the afterlife.According to religious texts, Lord Krishna explained the importance of Jaya Ekadashi to King Yudhishthira, saying that observing this fast can free a person from even the gravest sins, including Brahmahatya. And this is why the vrat is considered extremely powerful.
Rituals For Observing Jaya Ekadashi Vrat
- On the morning of 29th January, wake up early, take a bath, and resolve to observe the fast. Follow the fasting rules throughout the day.
- During the auspicious time, place an idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a wooden platform.
- Apply chandan (sandalwood) tilak on the idol or picture of Lord Vidhnu. Make offerings of flowers. Light a pure ghee diya. Prepare khichdi made of black gram (urad) and sesame seeds, adding Tulsi leaves to the offering.
- Mantra Chanting: While offering water to Lord Vishnu, recite this mantra: “Subrahmanya Namastestu Mahapurusha Purvaja. Grihanadhryam Maya Dattam Lakshmya Saha Jagatpate.”
