But what is so special about it and why should you visit them? Read below to find out. Neem Karoli Baba's Ashram In Kainchi Dham While visits by Virat and Anushka might have popularised this destination, Kainchi Dham ashram, for years, has been a destination that exudes peace. It has drawn people from around the world, including tech titans like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. And the epicentre of this faith is Neem Karoli Baba, his teachings and his spiritual energy. Dedicated to his memory and mysticism, Kainchi Dham is a beautiful destination that is definitely worth your faith and fervour. The dham itself is located in the Kumaon Hills of Uttarakhand, around 40 kms from the hill station of Nainital. It sits on the banks of the Kosi River, surrounded by pine-covered hills and is today a spiritual hotspot visited by thousands each year. According to the Ashram’s website, Kainchi Dham was established in 1962 by Neem Karoli Baba (Maharajji) at a site where saints like Premi Baba and Sombari Maharaj once performed Yagyas. It started off with a Hanuman temple that was built on a sacred platform he had envisioned. Over the years, it became a hub for bhajans and bhandaras as well as spiritual gatherings. After Maharajji’s mahasamadhi in 1973, a temple was built for him purely through voluntary devotion. Devotees, artisans, and even mothers writing "Ram Naam" on bricks came together in service and the temple was opened to devotees on June 15, 1976, with his murti being consecrated in the temple amid Vedic chants. Premanand Maharaj’s Ashram, Vrindavan In the sacred town of Vrindavan, is the ashram of Premanand Maharaj. In recent years, he has become a quiet yet powerful spiritual magnet. Unlike the grandeur of larger temples, this space is all about intimacy. For Virat and Anushka, visits here have often been low-key. There are no elaborate public gestures, no performative spirituality, just quiet participation. The couple has been spotted attending satsangs and sitting among devotees. Vrindavan itself holds a unique place in India. It is lnown as the land of Lord Krishna. For people who visit this place, it is not just a stop but an immersion. Mornings here begin with soft hum of prayers, then there are slow afternoons, followed by evenings that culminate in collective singing which is meditative.
