Hanuman Jayanti is observed every year on the full moon day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. It is also known as Hanuman Janmotsav. According
to belief, Lord Hanuman also known as Bajrangbali is immortal (Chiranjeevi) and is still present on Earth in physical form to protect his devotees. This is why the day is celebrated as his birth anniversary. "Devotees of Lord Hanuman are known as Hanuman Bhakta. Lord Hanuman is considered a lifelong Brahmachari. It is believed that He has taken the vow to celibate throughout His life and to remain an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. Hence, Lord Hanuman is the most significant deities for those who have taken the vow of celibacy especially among male devotees," states Drik Panchang. On this auspicious occasion, grand puja and rituals are organised at Hanuman temples across the country. Devotees offer sindoor, boondi, chola and besan laddoos to seek the Lord’s blessings. It is believed that doing so removes fear, suffering, obstacles and negative energy from one’s mind, while also bringing courage, strength and confidence into life.
