A man who calls himself the "living Nostradamus" says two of his big predictions for 2026 have already come true, and now he has a new warning that could
send a chill down anyone's spine. Athos Salome, a 39-year-old parapsychologist from Brazil, has built a name for himself by claiming he can see major world events before they happen. According to many media reports, he predicted the Covid-19 pandemic and the death of Queen Elizabeth II years in advance. Now, he says two more of his forecasts for this year have played out exactly as he said they would.
Iran Tensions And A World Cup Win!
Back in December last year, Salome released a list of 10 predictions for 2026. One of them warned that tensions between Iran and Israel would reach a "critical threshold." He pointed to disputes over Iran's uranium enrichment programme and said that things could boil over around the second quarter of 2026. His second claimed hit is closer to home for football fans. Ahead of the World Cup, Salome said the winning team would represent the "colours of fire." He listed several countries that fit that description, including Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Morocco, Argentina and England. When Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the final, Salome said he had called it, pointing out that he had named Spain as the most likely champion.
A New Warning
With two predictions apparently behind him, Salome is now turning his attention north. He has warned about rising tensions between Russia and NATO in the Arctic Circle. He has said that the region could become more dangerous as melting ice opens up new shipping routes and access to natural resources.According to Salome, recent intelligence suggests Russia has been moving missile systems into strategic Arctic locations. He believes this raises the chances of a direct clash with NATO forces during this year's ice melt, a period he says will be critical because of the new routes and energy reserves at stake. He has also flagged trouble in Africa's Sahel region, specifically pointing to extremist groups growing in northern Niger. Salome believes the area could turn into a battleground where outside powers compete for influence now that Western troops have pulled out of the region.
How Exactly Are These Predictions Made?
Salome says his method is a mix of symbolic analysis, watching for long-term patterns, and his study of Kabbalah, the ancient Jewish mystical tradition. He looks for cycles and coincidences that, in his experience, tend to show up before big events happen. Then, he checks those impressions against what is actually going on in the world before saying anything publicly.Even in doing so, he is careful to add a disclaimer. He has said no method of prediction is perfect, and that what he offers are interpretations.
