What is the story about?
Sankashti Chaturthi fast is observed every month on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha, which is today. It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesha with
proper rituals can bring happiness, prosperity and abundance into life. The Chaturthi that falls in the Krishna Paksha of the Magh month, which is today, is known as Dwijpriya Sankashti Chaturthi. On this day, Lord Ganesha is worshipped in his Dwijpriya form.

- Ganesh Mool Mantra: "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah"
- Vakratunda Mahakaya: "Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha, Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvada"
- Om Ganeshaya Namah: "Om Shri Ganeshaya Namah"
Sankashti Chaturthi Puja Vidhi
- Start your day by taking a bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a vow to observe the fast.
- Follow the fasting rules throughout the day.
- During an auspicious time, place a wooden platform in a clean area of the house and install an idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.
- Apply tilak to the deity, offer flowers and light a lamp with ghee.
- Then offer roli, rice, abir, gulal, kumkum, clothes, sacred thread, betel leaves and coconut.
- Make sure to offer durva grass during the worship and present food offerings according to your devotion.
- Continue chanting the mantra “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah” during the puja.
- This is followed by a Ganpati aarti. Then offer arghya with water and flowers to the moon.
