Unified Terminal Design
Noida International Airport in Jewar boasts a pioneering single integrated terminal, ingeniously consolidating both arrival and departure operations. This
innovative architectural choice eliminates the need for passengers to navigate between separate buildings, thereby streamlining the entire travel experience. The terminal is thoughtfully laid out across two distinct levels: the upper level dedicated to departures and the lower level to arrivals, ensuring a clear and intuitive flow for all travelers. A central concourse area serves as the nexus, connecting these two crucial sections without requiring direct, separate ramp access to the departure level. Passengers can effortlessly transition between levels using strategically placed escalators and lifts within the arrival concourse, with two of each located on either side to facilitate easy movement and minimize congestion, especially for those managing heavy luggage.
Effortless Passenger Entry
The departure terminal at Noida International Airport is equipped with a total of eight main entry gates, each featuring eight individual access points. This robust setup is engineered to accommodate numerous passengers simultaneously, significantly reducing potential waiting times at the entrance. Embracing modern technology, all these entry gates are seamlessly integrated with the Digi Yatra app, enabling a contactless and efficient entry process for passengers. Recognizing the diverse needs of airport operations, a distinct gate has also been allocated exclusively for the use of crew members and airport staff, ensuring a smooth and separate flow for operational personnel.
Streamlined Check-in
Inside the terminal, passengers will find the airline check-in counters conveniently located at the front. Here, travelers can complete their baggage check-in and receive their boarding passes, with airline staff readily available to offer assistance. For those who prefer to expedite their journey further, an advanced self-bag drop facility is available. This station allows passengers who have already completed their check-in online to independently tag and deposit their luggage, further reducing the time spent at counters. The airport operator has meticulously planned a passenger processing model focused on minimizing dwell time within the terminal.
Rapid Processing Goal
A cornerstone of Noida International Airport's passenger experience is its ambitious target of a 10-minute check-in and baggage-drop timeline. This remarkable efficiency is made possible through a strategic combination of self-service kiosks, fully digital processing systems, and a terminal layout meticulously designed to prevent congestion and reduce the overall time passengers spend within the facility. This focus on speed and convenience aims to transform the often-stressful pre-flight process into a remarkably swift and pleasant experience for every traveler.
Advanced Security Screening
Security is paramount, and the airport features multiple checkpoints equipped with 13 Door Frame Metal Detectors. Of these, 12 are designated for passenger screening, while one is reserved for the exclusive use of staff and crew. To further enhance the efficiency of baggage checks, the airport has installed six Automatic Tray Retrieval Systems, which will manage the flow of trays during screening operations with optimized speed and organization. This comprehensive approach to security ensures both safety and a swift passage for passengers.
Boarding and Amenities
Following successful security checks, passengers proceed through a corridor to the left, which guides them towards the boarding section. At the termination of this passage, two escalators lead passengers down to the boarding level, ensuring clear wayfinding. A dedicated food court is situated on the left side of this area, offering dining options, while the boarding gates are conveniently positioned on the right. The airport offers a total of 10 main boarding gates and an additional 2 bus gates for flights requiring transit to the tarmac. Passengers assigned to bus gates will proceed one level further down, where similar amenities are available.
Arrivals and Future Expansion
The arrival section of Noida International Airport is fully operational and prepared to welcome incoming passengers, mirroring the efficiency and design principles seen throughout the terminal. This facility is part of a larger, multi-phase development plan aimed at significantly expanding the airport's capacity over time. Once fully developed, Noida International Airport is set to operate in synergy with the existing Indira Gandhi International Airport, enhancing the overall air connectivity and capacity of the Delhi-NCR region.
