Goa Bound Comfortably
KSRTC is making waves in the leisure tourism sector by launching an enticing three-night, two-day package to the popular destination of Goa. This move
signifies a significant expansion for the state carrier, venturing beyond its traditional focus on pilgrimage circuits to cater to the burgeoning demand for recreational travel. The package is meticulously designed to offer a holistic Goan experience, encompassing its renowned golden beaches, historically significant UNESCO World Heritage sites, and its vibrant culinary landscape and renowned nightlife. To ensure a harmonious balance between cost-effectiveness and a comfortable travel experience, the journey is thoughtfully bifurcated. Passengers will initially travel via a KSRTC bus to Kasaragod. From there, they will transition to a private luxury air-conditioned coach for the remainder of the trip across state borders. In a notable effort to enhance the 'budget' aspect of this tour, the Corporation has joined forces with the Kerala Tourism Development Cooperative Society (KTDS) to secure premium hotel accommodations, promising travelers a pleasant stay.
Record Growth Trajectory
This new Goa offering arrives at a period of remarkable financial expansion for KSRTC's tourism division. The organization reported an impressive revenue of ₹42 crore in 2025, nearly doubling its earnings from the preceding year. Since its inception in 2021, this forward-thinking initiative has successfully served a considerable clientele of over 1.2 million travelers. This statistic unequivocally demonstrates the existence of a substantial and eager market segment that values reliable, government-backed travel options. While the precise pricing for the Goa package is still being finalized, the tourism cell is concurrently rolling out a series of attractive summer special excursions to popular hill stations and pilgrimage sites such as Ooty, Kodaikanal, Rameswaram, and Meghamalai. Furthermore, KSRTC is actively promoting coastal tourism through its innovative 'Sea Alappuzha' project, scheduled to commence operations on April 1. This will be followed by a similar venture, 'Sea Ashtamudi' in Kollam, both aimed at highlighting Kerala's pristine backwaters and rich maritime heritage.
